A Conference Worth Considering

18 Nov Posted by in | Comments

Many missiologists and field workers (myself included) consider Disciple Making Movements to be a blessing from the Lord – avoiding many weaknesses of both traditional (aggregate) church planting approaches and socio-religious “Insider” approaches. Disciple Making Movements are real…and are happening around the world today, especially among Muslims.

If you’re interested to know more about Disciple Making Movements (DMM), a unique opportunity is coming up just a few months from now. At Multiply:  A DMM Summit, some of the world’s foremost DMM proponents will be speaking in Wheaton, IL: Jerry Trousdale, Roy Moran, Craig Ott, and (by video) David Watson.

  • Contagious                                 Mir Move

Jerry will talk about breakthroughs among Muslims from his book Miraculous Movements: How Hundreds of Thousands of Muslims are Falling in Love with Jesus. He will also give insights from his forthcoming book, The Kingdom Unleashed, which deals especially with the topic of why these movements are happening so much more in the Global South than in America.

Also, other DMM practitioners and trainers from around the world will facilitate helpful break-out sessions.

Some key topics/questions this conference will address:

  • What’s happening around the world?
  • How are modern Disciple Making Movements like events in the book of Acts?
  • What’s working to reach Muslims?
  • How DMM works to catalyze movements among UPGs.
  • Are these movements healthy and biblical?
  • Why we must catalyze movements if we’re going to reach the world for Christ.
  • Why Muslims are responding in record numbers today…and what we must do to help them.
  • How to sustain and cultivate healthy movements – not just catalyze them.
  • Why are these movements happening so rarely in the USA?

This is especially for people in the Chicagoland area, but open to all.  We expect people from around the world. You’re invited…please also invite your ministry partners, pastors and mission leaders.
